Are you ready to dance for a purpose and that purpose be your health? We are adding Zumba to our calendar! Every Thursday at 10 a.m. we will dance our way to better health and hopefully have as much fun as possible along the way. Our people spoke, and we listened. So we’ve added health activities and more social interaction. We also added tai chi to our program, for mind, body, and soul, thanks to Cumberland Community Foundation and Elizabeth Hudspeth. We keep our numbers down to six per class so that our participants can get the best experience. If you’d like to sign up to help out, call the center at (910) 483-2719 to get added this program.
Much thanks to Cape Fear Botanical Garden and the Elizabeth Hudspeth grant from CCF for the therapeutic horticulture activities last month! Our participants love the tactile and senses programming created by the Garden. We also would like to thank LC Industries for putting on a spectacular job fair last month. We have so many visually impaired and blind who want to work. We have leads for people and hope to facilitate success for each of them in this area.
In Loving Memory of Leola Johnson…
The VRC lost one of our angels March 21st, Leola Johnson, our van driver’s wife and member of the VRC, Leola was a generous and giving spirit. The VRC will miss her much.

The VRC sure could use your help! We always need volunteers, so if you are looking for a way to give back to your community, try the VRC. We need you to become a “friend” to someone and to become the eyes of someone else. You describe the environment and help them to navigate in new places or situations (for those that need the help). We invite you to join us and find out just how fulfilling and FUN it is to be a part of this great organization! More about volunteering can be found here: www.visionresourcecentercc.org/you-can-help.
